Beaches of our beautiful Island
We can list 37 beautiful beaches of our beautiful Island St. Martin. For many, the most beautiful beach Dawn Beach. The famous landmark of the island’s Maho Beach, where planes fly low over it. It is a very touristy beach, surrounded by mostly all-inclusive resorts. In the Dutch capital of Philipsburg you will find beautiful beaches on the Great Bay and Little Bay (interesting with children). In the north, especially Anse Marcel worth.
1 Plum Bay
A beautiful but little used beach. Good swimmers can venture North along Pointe Plum rocks. Depending on the swell, you can reach a body board spot a few days each year.
2 Baie Rouge
Well-known because it is dose to Marigot, this beach has been laid out and animated by the famous Raymond who offers small Creole catering. Swimming east along a cliff, you can discover a beautiful rocky arch and a tiny deserted beach.
3 Little Bay
Unprotected from the north-eastern rough weather, this undeveloped beach gives a nice compact view of the Bay of Marigot. It can be reached by the mud path leading to Devils Hole, then following the shoreline on the right.
4 Nettle Bay sea side
A whole series of beaches forming the western part of the Bay of Marigot. Restaurant and hotels have developed a few sections.
5 Nettle Bay lagoon side
Every beach on the Iagoon has been developed by each hotel. Next to the restaurants and watersports facilities, these sandy strips have become idyllic spots.
6 Explorer Island
In the middle of the lagoon, a small deserted island and its little beach make an ideal site to welcome picnickers and night parties. lt can only be reached by boot.
7 Lovers Beach
Hidden in the rocky heart of Pointe Arago, the few sandy yards of the most private beaches of our island can be reached from the shore path linking Marigot to Anse des Pères .
8 Friar´s Bay
Well protected from the swell, this lovely beach faces Anguilla. Well known for the quality of both its restaurants and its family atmosphere during the day, this beach is also the meeting place for night owls and Caribbean music lovers, who attend every full moon night, the Kali s famous Full Moon Parties.
9 Happy Bay
From the north end on Friar´s Bay Beach, a 10 minute walk is enough to reach this often deserted little paradise made of white sand, coconut trees and black rocks.
10 Grand Casse Bay
The beach stretches the whole length of the Bay, lined by the most prestigious restaurants on the island and the typical lolos
11 Petite Plage
Laid out by the Grand-Case Beach Club, this beach is a natural extension of the previous one. Facing the Creole Rock isle – a protected site in the Nature Reserve of Sait-Maarten – it quieter and more suitable for swimming.
12 Anse Marcel
Deep in the magnificent site of Port Lonvilliers, this beach is maintained by the hotels. Free access but very well protected from the swell. Restaurants and diving center are nearby.
13 Petit Cayes
Considered as one of the most beautiful beaches on the island. Still in a wild state, this thin crescent of white sand hidden an the rocky shore of Pointe des Froussards can be reached after a 25 minutes walk from Cul-de-Sac or a 60 minute walk from the right shore of Anse Marcel. Don´t forget to bring drinks and sun cream.
14 Grandes Cayes
Near Cul-de-Sac, this beach lined with sea grape trees, is first of all a traditional site for the Saint-Maarten´s families picnics.
The beach of White Bay is a real paradisei n the heart of the Nature Reserve of 250 acres. Some shuttle boats can link you from Cul-de-Sac dock on request. Once you are there, you have to visit the island. Bring your own provisions.
16 Pinel Island
At Cul-de-Sac dock, shuttle boots come and go regularly every few minutes to this little island closing the Bay. Two beaches, provide comfortable restaurants as well as nice shallow diving spots allowing everyone to discover the tropical submarine fauna.
17 Orient Bay
Between the Atlantic waves und the luxurious hotel complexes, this vast beach offers all he facilities one can dream of: restaurants boutiques, watersports… Our Saint Tropez of the Caribbean is one of the required stops of the jet-set. Facing he beach, Green Cay is waiting for lonesome lovers.
18 Le Galion
A family beach very well-protected from the swell thanks to o coral reef restaurants and watersports facilities
From the Galion beach to the mouth of the Etang aux Poissons, this long sand strip is part of the Natural Reserve. Traffic has been reduced there in order to protect the precious ecosystem and the pond. On die Atlantic side, the sea offers perfect conditions for the kite-surfing and sail-boarding
20 Baie Lucas
Badly protected from the Atlantic swell this beach is little used, but its coral clumps attract the snorkelers.
21 Dawn Beach
Near the Oyster Pond marina, a partially developed beach with restaurants.
22 Guana Bay
Facing St Barth´s islands, a beautiful but often deserted beach because of its strong currents. Reserved for good swimmers and body boarders on high swell days.
23 Geneve Bay
No sand or shade there, but this natural pool made in the Bock Bay rocks deserves its place as one of the best swimming spots. Starting at the extreme south of Guana Bay, it is an one hour walk on the coastal path.
24 Great Bay
In the heart of Philipsburg, this beach has been developed as a promenade and is bordered by many restaurants and hotels.
25 Little Bay
Separated from Great Bay by the Fort Amsterdam peninsula, this beach is great for swimmers. Its lined pond has become a sanctuary for birds since the reforestation mode by the ´Nature Foundation´
26 Cay Bay
A very often secluded beach which owes its serenity to its lac of easy access. A 15 minute hike-walk from the Cole Bay path. Beautiful underwater seascape for divers (snorkeling).
27 Pelican Cay
A little beach well-protect from the swell, laid out in front of the hotels complexes.
28 Simpson Bay
An undeveloped beach that stretches along Simpson Bay village and the Princess Juliana airport runaway . It ends at the cliffs at Burgeaux Point.
29 Maho Beach
At the end of the Princess Juliana airport runaway, it is a big attraction for tourists to see the landings and takeoffs. Towels, bags and umbrellas regularly end up in the sea, blown away by the jet engines…
30 Mullet Bay
A very popular, beautiful beach, between the golf course and the Caribbean Sea… When the swell comes from the north, it is a great surfing spot.
At the foot of beautiful ochre-colored cliffs, a succession of little beaches forms and disappears with the quirks of the sea magnificent sunsets
32 Long Bay
The longest beach in Saint Maarten spreads from the cliffs at La Samanna to Pointe du Canonnier, the Western Cape on the island.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
