Where is St Maarten / St. Martin located
Divided in two
The southern part of the tropical island of Saint Maarten / Saint Martin is a country within the Kingdom of the Netherlands from about 34 square kilometer. The northern part belongs to the Collectivity of St. Martin which is an overseas collectivity of France. In total the island has the size of 87 square kilometer.
The two most important places are Marigot on the French side and Philipsburg on the Dutch side.
It is said that the total size of the population is almost about 100,000 people, but the official figures state that there are 36,000 inhabitants on the French side and 39,000 on the Dutch.

Being part of the Leeward Islands in the Lesser Antilles the island is located south of Anguilla. at the south east lays St Barthelemy (Saint Barts), and directly to the South is the “Unspoiled Queen” situated, better known by Saba.
Getting to SXM
Like some Route planners might suggest, it is a swim of 1,220 mile / 1960 kilometer from Miami towards the south-east until our beautiful Saint Maarten is reached.
Of course it is advisable to make this trip by plane and land on the Princess Juliana International Airport SXM St Maarten / Martin, or by boat sailing the same distance.
Also from most of the Caribbean islands flight connections are available, as well as direct flights from Amsterdam and Paris.
